KFR – Kanzlei für Real Estate has been able to gain the highly experienced and renowned Attorney at Law Dr. Tina Großkurth as a new partner to expand its construction law expertise.
The 44-year-old is leaving the mid-sized law firm Ahlers & Vogel, where she was at times a member of the Management Board.

Career path of Dr. Tina Großkurth

Dr. Großkurth began her career in 2001 at BRANDI Rechtsanwälte in Bielefeld before joining Ahlers & Vogel in 2006, initially in Bremen and in Hamburg from 2011.
Her clients include

• globally operating corporations,
• as well as supra-regional hospitals and
• medium-sized construction companies
• as well as well-known architecture and engineering firms,

which she advises as a specialist lawyer for construction and architecture law in these very areas.

The Bundestag recently passed the Building Land Mobilization Act. It is primarily intended to contribute to the creation of more (affordable) housing and to strengthen the powers and influence of municipalities.
Yesterday, Dr. Henrik Kirchhoff and Carlotta Zimmermann (née Vohl) presented at an online seminar of the BFW Regional Association North on the construction law changes introduced by the Building Land Mobilization Act.

Key topics of the seminar

The focus was on the implications for residential construction practice, in particular through

• the strengthening of municipal pre-emption rights,
• the expansion of exemption possibilities from land use planning provisions and
• the planned prohibition on the conversion of rental apartments into condominiums in areas with a strained housing market.

The Act is intended to accelerate residential construction and give municipalities more room to maneuver in order to activate building land and promote housing preservation.
It strengthens municipal control of construction projects and is intended to facilitate the creation of affordable housing.

Six years after the opening of the Hamburg office, KFR – Kanzlei für Real Estate continues to grow steadily. Having significantly strengthened ourselves at both partner and associate level in recent years, the next step is now the opening of a second office in the Bavarian state capital.

New Salary Partner: Frederik Laux

To this end, Frederik Laux is joining KFR as Salary Partner and will drive the development of the new office.
Frederik Laux began his career at GSK Stockmann and was most recently working at Reed Smith in Munich.
His advisory focus areas are

• real estate transactions,
• commercial asset management and
• real estate finance.

His clients include in particular institutional real estate investors, family offices and asset management providers with a predominantly international background.

Reunion with the KFR founding team

Frederik Laux is no stranger to KFR. Rather, the new collaboration reconnects to the shared years of the KFR founding team and Frederik Laux at GSK Stockmann.

Reinforcement through Lena Forster

Together with Frederik Laux, Lena Forster will relocate from the Hamburg KFR office to Munich and help build the new office. Lena Forster also has a connection to GSK Stockmann, having previously worked there as a research associate. Lena Forster then began her career as an attorney at SNP Schlawien in Munich and was most recently working at Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein. Her advisory focus areas include

• real estate transactions and
• commercial lease and tenancy law.
